Pen pal opportunity for Steuben County teens and tweens

CORNING, N.Y. (WETM) — The Southeast Steuben County Library is offering teens and tweens the chance to make friends in another state.

Steuben County youths between the ages of nine and 17 are eligible to sign up for the library’s pen pal program. The library partnered with another library in Charleston, South Carolina, and the first batch of letters from their teens and tweens should arrive during the week of April 22.

Teens and tweens who would like to grow friendships through handwritten letters can sign up at the Southeast Steuben County Library’s children’s desk. Library staff will match each person who signs up with someone around the same age.

The Southeast Steuben County Library is located at 300 Nasser Civic Center Plaza, Suite 101, in Corning. The library is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays.
