Tracee Ellis Ross made waves in the beauty world last year when she launched Pattern, a line of haircare products that celebrate Black hair textures and routines. The first launch included top-rated shampoos, conditioners, hair oils, serums, and a few key accessories—but why stop at wash day? Tomorrow, Ross is debuting the long-awaited phase two of Pattern, with 15+ new styling products and tools to help beautifully shape and boost curls.

"It’s always been the plan to bring styling products to Pattern. Curlies, coilies, and tight textures know our hair, the types of products that work for us, and what we want. We’ve been listening, and it’s been great incorporating feedback into the development of these new products," Ross said in a brand statement. "I’m super proud of how the brand and our community have come together as we continue to fulfill the beauty needs of the natural hair community."

Tomorrow's Style Your Pattern drop includes a hydrating mist, curl gel, styling cream, strong hold gel, and edge control styler, as well as essentials like an edge tool, hair pick, and comb. There are also two new product kits and new sizes for the shower line.

Phase two of Pattern is launching on Juneteenth (June 19), the day that honors the abolition of slavery in the United States. The timing for the launch—given the Black Lives Matter movement—was vital. "As we continue to protest and gather and strategize and hold those in power accountable and reimagine our future and vote, I am reminded that celebrating Black beauty is a part of this revolution," Ross said in a powerful Instagram video. "And I’m reminded of the urgency that propelled me to persist for 10 years to create Pattern."

I’m proud to present the PATTERN Poetic Piece! Manifesting the essence of this campaign into a living, moving expression was so incredible, but it wouldn’t have been possible without these like-minded creatives who helped me turn my vision into reality… It’s one thing to work with your best friends, but it’s another when they are as talented as these two are. Thank you @mpaganucci and @samiranasr for not only being my best friends, but also for making this a beautiful experience. Man, I love you both. To finally be able to work with the impeccable @sharifhamza, who knows a thing or two about creating a narrative through images, was such a pleasure. Thank you once again to @amenabee for weaving words into magic and being our poetic partner at @patternbeauty. @naivashaintl, the vastness of hair looks you created on so many of us was beyond! Thank you for sharing your gifts. You crushed it. Thank you @gracegraceahn for your incredible use of color and shared love of natural glowing skin. @heyvinson: thank you for inspiring new shapes and conjuring different stories through our bodies. To the @patternbeauty team: thank you for your tireless, loving, & passionate energy, and for supporting my vision. Thank you @jcwolfington for making all this happen. And thank you to this cast of beauties for sharing your light, your hearts, and your hair, and allowing us to tell the PATTERN story through you. #StyleYourPattern

While the beauty industry's spotlight is (finally, rightfully) on Black-owned brands, Ross notes that Pattern's core mission has always been about celebrating Black beauty. "I am reminded of the importance of being a Black-owned business and of why Pattern has been centered around the beauty of blackness from the start. I’m reminded of the importance of being an active space where we can see ourselves. And our humanity. And our joy. And our glory. And our softness. And our strength," she said.

Pattern beauty's stylers and tools will launch on patternbeauty.com tomorrow and at Ulta stores and online on June 28.
