Patta’s Second Collaboration with New Balance Is Dropping Soon

Patta and New Balance have joined forces again.

The streetwear brand and sportswear company are launching a collaboration on New Balance’s 991 sneaker. Called the Patta x New Balance M991Pat, the shoe features a “dusty pink/light petrol” colorway complete with a suede and mesh construction.

Additionally, Patta’s logo is adorned on the heel of the shoe with a contrasting white and cream outsole. The sneaker comes in women’ and men’s sizes and will be available on Jan. 22 with a $267 price tag at PattaNewBalance991.com. Limited pairs of the shoe will also be available at select retailers including Doe, Concepts and Beams on Jan. 29.

Making the launch all the more exciting, this year marks the 20th anniversary of the 991 silhouette. The 991 became the first of the 99X series to include an Abzorb window in the forefoot as well as beneath the heel. The style also featured a streamlined toebox and added comfort.

Patta and New Balance previously teamed up together on the footwear brand’s 920 shoe, which dropped in September 2020. Patta unveiled the kick on Instagram, showing off the style that features brown suede blended with cream olive and gray mesh uppers. The shoe was a part of Patta’s AW20 collection, and is now available on the resale market with Stockx.com selling the style for $265.

The past year has been a busy one for New Balance with the brand — that was named Athletic Brand of the Year at the 2020 FN Achievement Awards — dropping hit after hit and receiving a resurgence of interest among everyday people and celebrities. The momentum hasn’t stopped in 2021 either.

Earlier this month, it was revealed that New Balance will be releasing an all-new silhouette, called the New Balance 5740. The new style, which is inspired by the classic 574 sneaker, was unveiled by Japan-based sneaker boutique Mita via a series of images and short videos on Instagram. In the clip, New Balance shared that the new shoe is made with premium materials and an oversized “N” logo on the lateral side with reflective materials.

The retailer also revealed images of two colorways. One look features black uppers mixed with purple, yellow, orange and teal. The other shoe features white uppers and the same bold colors, midsoles and outsoles as the black shoe. Further release info for the new shoe has not been announced.
