From a brand that prioritizes ethics in manufacturing and production.
If I had my way, I'd live in dresses and shorts all year round. That's the clothing I feel most myself in, and it's always a bit of a sad adjustment to get back into the habit of wearing pants every day throughout the fall and winter. But if the cold (and my unwillingness to step outside without a layer or two of leggings underneath whatever I have on) means I have to resign myself to pants, I might as well pick a good pair.
Right now, I'm eyeing this just-barely-flared pair from Kotn. I like that they're simple enough to be worn more than once a week, but the fun silhouette keeps them from feeling too forgettably blah. Plus, they're made by a brand that's championing ethical local production in Egypt — everything from the cotton farms to mills and factories involved in the production of their clothing takes place within a 250-mile radius — which means these are pants with a good story, too. I'd wear them in every color.
Kotn Culotte Trousers, $75, available here.
