The Palace Is Worried That Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Are “Vulnerable” Outside of the Royal Family

From Cosmopolitan

  • The palace is reportedly worried about how Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will adjust to their new life outside of the royal family.

  • They’re already drawing up plans for if Meghan and Harry want to return to England!

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are making moves, and by that I mean that the couple has given up their royal titles, given up their royal allowance, and has literally moved to Vancouver after stepping down as senior members of the royal family.

And it seems as though Meg and Harry’s transition has caused some mixed emotions—while Prince William and Kate Middleton are “still reeling” from the decision, Meghan “feels free” and “has never been happier,” which, good for her! But the people over at the palace are reportedly having a very different reaction, cause according to the Sunday Times (via the Daily Mail), they are very concerned about Meghan and Harry and fear that the couple will have a hard time dealing with the media scrutiny in Canada.

A source tells the Times, “The palace is very worried about the Sussexes, because they are vulnerable outside the embrace of the family.” And not only that, but the palace has apparently already made a backup plan for if Meghan and Harry want to return. The source adds:

They are making contingency plans in case the Sussexes suddenly turn round and say: “Can we come back under your wing?” You could bring them back to Frogmore to look after them. They wouldn’t return to royal duties, but they could have a period of rehabilitation and recuperation.

And while this is all very dramatic, the report also notes that Prince Charles and Prince William “have been ‘reaching out’ to Harry and Meghan to say that if they wanted to return to the UK full-time, they could do so without having to resume their official royal duties,” which is sweet, no?
