- Palace insiders are reportedly unimpressed by Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's recent statement.
- Apparently there's a sense that the couple has "lost all sense of perspective," to which I say, LET THEM LIVE!
Over the weekend, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry went ahead and updated their personal website with some news about their move away from the royal family. And while the statement was pretty informative, there's been some chatter online about it being a liiiiiiittle shady. Some people think Meghan and Harry made a dig at Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice at one point, and their paragraph claiming that the Queen doesn't have a say in whether they can use "royal" while overseas isn't sitting particularly well.
Now, chatty palace "insiders" are complaining to The Daily Mail, with one source saying "Let's just hope they feel they have got whatever they want to get out of their system" and another claiming the couple has "lost all sense of perspective."
"It was their decision to do this and the family is clearly trying their best to facilitate it," a source said. 'But it inevitably requires sacrifices on both sides and the Sussexes need to be rather more gracious about it. Sniping from the sidelines doesn't help anyone."
Meanwhile, a source tells Vanity Fair that the Queen is over by all this drama: "She generally doesn’t want to talk about it. The Queen has been keen to get this resolved because she sees it is damaging to the monarchy and on a personal level I think this has been rather hurtful for her. She has got to the point where she doesn’t want to think about it anymore, she just wants it over and done with."
