Golf instructor and media personality Paige Spiranac joined Haley and Hanna Cavinder for the latest episode of Twin Talk earlier this week. On the podcast, the one-time SI Swimsuit model chatted with the former NCAA basketball stars about everything from her career to the best golfer she’s ever played with.
Spiranac also opened up about dealing with online haters, and revealed that dealing with criticism from trolls actually led her to embrace herself fully.
“When I started doing this, I wanted to be taken seriously as a professional golfer,” Spiranac stated. “And no matter what I did, no matter what I posted, I would get hate. And there was one time where I wore a full turtleneck, leggings, I was completely covered head to toe, and people were upset with my outfit. And I was like, ‘O.K., well clearly, no matter what I wear, or what I do, people are going to be upset about it, so I might as well wear what I want and live the life that I want to live.”
Spiranac shared a photo of the turtleneck and leggings outfit referenced on social media platform X back in 2017, where she noted, “I got called a s--- for wearing a turtleneck.”
On the podcast, went on to share that she’s always been comfortable in tight, form-fitting clothing due to her gymnastics background, which required her to wear a leotard and little else.
“When that happened, I just said, O.K., well I’m just gonna do what I want to do and I’m gonna wear what I want to wear, and if people like it, great,” Spiranac said. “If they dislike it, O.K., great, that’s fine.”
