'Outlander' Fans Have So Many Questions After Seeing a New Instagram Post About Season 6

As fans continue to stand by for season 6 of Outlander, some think the Starz drama series isn’t making the wait any easier.

It all began a day after the 2021 Met Gala. This year’s theme was inspired after the museum’s spring exhibit titled “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion.” A roster of Hollywood A-listers attended the New York City event and there were many opinions about which outfits nailed American fashion.

When the glitzy night was over, the Outlander social media team threw its own look into the mix. In an Instagram post, Outlander stars Richard Rankin and Sophie Skelton (who play Roger and Brianna, respectively) are seen filming an intense season 6 moment in the woods. A cameraman and boom microphone are also snapped in the behind-the-scenes photo. “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion, 1700s style,” the clever post was captioned, referencing the Met Gala.

Needless to say, folks chuckled at the fashion nod. Meanwhile, others were focused on getting more behind-the-scenes looks. “We need more pictures from s6,” one person wrote. “I want ALL the sneak peeks!!!! 😍,” another added.

And then there were some Outlander fans that specifically demanded to see more behind-the-scene pics of Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitríona Balfe). A follower commented, “Will we ever have a picture of the two lead actors???” to which another fan replied, “Don’t they understand that Jamie and Claire are all we want???” Someone else quipped, “Jamie and Claire ARE Outlander. The others just shine through them.”

Nearly two years after the show’s fifth installment aired its last episode, Outlander will return with season 6 in early 2022, according to Deadline. Earlier this summer, Sam excitedly tweeted that the show had finished filming and fans could expect a lengthy season 6 premiere. Although there will only be eight episodes in the upcoming season, season 7 will be “extended” to 16 episodes.
