Outer Banks Star Chase Stokes Is Dating Kelsea Ballerini

Outer Banks actor Chase Stokes and country musician Kelsea Ballerini are officially a couple.

Stokes confirmed their relationship on Today in an interview with Sheinelle Jones, who first asked the actor if he’d be catching Ballerini’s upcoming SNL performance. “Kelsea Ballerini, she’ll be taking the stage. Going out on a limb here—are you a fan?” she asked. “Absolutely I’m a fan,” Stokes replied “Yeah, who isn’t a fan?” He then nodded when asked if the pair were dating.

Rumors have been flying about the actor and the musician for some time; Stokes and Ballerini have been spotted together frequently since late 2022 and occasionally shared pics of each other on Instagram Stories, but neither party confirmed or denied a relationship until now. The pair were most recently seen kissing at a New York Rangers hockey game in New York on March 2, which People shares was their first “official” public appearance as a couple.

Ballerini previously acknowledged their relationship on the Call Her Daddy podcast, where she also spoke openly about her 2022 divorce from Morgan Evans, the inspiration for her popular new EP, Rolling Up the Welcome Mat. “I was just really honest [when I told him],” she said recently about her divorce on the Call Her Daddy podcast. “I just said, ‘I’ve loved what this has brought in my life, and I respect you, and I respect me, and because of that, I can no longer be in this marriage.’”

Chase Stokes, on the other hand, dated his fellow Outer Banks actor Madelyn Cline in 2020 and 2021, but the pair split before season 3 started filming. “Mads and I have been working together now for 30 episodes, and we made a promise to each other before we even started dating that the work was always going to come first,” Chase told EW. “And that no matter what happens in our personal lives, and the ways that life sometimes takes you in different directions, that we’re always going to honor the work. That stayed 100 percent truthful this season.”
