Pogues enthusiasts, get ready because the second season of Outer Banks will be here way sooner than we’d expected.

On June 9, Netflix released a teaser for the series’s sophomore season announcing the long-anticipated release will officially be premiering on the streaming platform on July 30. (After the premiere of its first season in April 2020, Netflix renewed the series for a second season last July and it was reported that the cast had wrapped filming in April 2021.)

In the trailer, we see JJ, Kiara, and Pope (played by Rudy Pankow, Madison Bailey, and Jonathan Daviss, respectively) mourning Pogues ringleader John B. (aka. JB, played by Chase Stokes) and Sarah (Madelyn Cline), whom they presumed dead. But, as viewers already know thanks to a cheeky Instagram caption, the pair actually ended up making it to the Bahamas, trailing after Ward’s gold. “Back in the G-Game, baby,” JB tells Sarah in one of the clips shown in the teaser.

“Season 2 is going to test our crew like never before,” Jonas Pate, Josh Pate, and Shannon Burke, the creators and executive producers of the show, said in a statement. “We’ve turned up the dial on everything fans loved about season one – more mystery, more romance, and higher stakes. It’s a full-throttle, action-packed adventure and these photos offer a glimpse into the next chapter for our Pogues. All we can say for now is buckle up, it’s going to be a wild ride.”
