When Are the Oscars?

So, you already know the details about when the main event will take place, but what about the red carpet? Red carpet coverage begins at 3:30 p.m. PST/6:30 p.m. EST with ABC's Oscars All Access: Red Carpet Live, according to the Oscars website. Journalist and talk show host Tamron Hall, film critic Elvis Mitchellplus, Lily Aldridge, and Billy Porter, will all be hosting the red carpet festivities for ABC.

You can also catch Ryan Seacrest and Giuliana Rancic hosting E! Live From the Red Carpet: Oscars 2019, starting at 5 p.m. ET/2 p.m. PT.

Oscars 2020 Nominations

Top contenders at this year's Oscars include Joker, which with 11 nominations, leads the pack. In addition to a Best Actor nod for Joaquin Phoenix, the film also received nominations in the Best Picture, Best Cinematography, and Best Makeup & Hairstyling categories. Once Upon a Time ... in Hollywood, The Irishman, and 1917 aren’t close behind with 10 nominations each, including Best Picture and Best Director. Marriage Story, Parasite, and Jojo Rabbit also all scored multiple nominations.

Also worth watching: Scarlett Johansson, who has a chance to join a handful of actors who have been nominated in two categories. Johansson is up for the Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress categories for her roles in Marriage Story and Jojo Rabbit.

Who's Hosting the Oscars?

Following in last year's footsteps, the 92nd annual Academy Awards is going sans host again this year, turning instead to a solid lineup of presenters who will help dole out the awards. You can count on seeing some of your favorites, including Salma Hayek, Spike Lee, Rebel Wilson, Mahershala Ali, Timothée Chalamet, Olivia Colman, James Corden, Beanie Feldstein, Will Ferrell, Gal Gadot, Mindy Kaling, Diane Keaton, Regina King, Rami Malek, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Mark Ruffalo, and Kristen Wiig, according to the Oscars website.

Who Are the 2020 Oscars Performers?

If the main reason you watch the Oscars if for the killer performances, then you're in for a treat. The Academy confirmed last month that Billie Eilish will be performing live.

Elton John, Chrissy Metz, Cynthia Erivo, Randy Newman, and Idina Menzel will also be performing songs that have been nominated in the Best Original Song category.
