Orville Peck’s Signature Masked Country Look Gets the Dior Treatment

Yesterday, designer Kim Jones debuted his Pre-Fall 2020 collection for Dior Men in Miami. The show included a collaboration with Shawn Stussy, as well as new Dior Air kicks that sneakerheads are already seriously coveting. But even aside from the new line, there was plenty of buzz surrounding the show’s front row offering, too; stars including Kim Kardashian West, David Beckham, and Bella Hadid descended upon Miami Beach to soak up the winter sun and next summer’s fashion. But there was one particular attendee that stole the show last night: the masked country singer Orville Peck.

The mysterious talent has become well-known for his signature look, which always includes a cowboy hat and a fringed eye mask that conceals his face. “The masks exist as a point of discussion for people to add their own take on them,” he told the New York Times of the piece. So for his Dior appearance, he naturally busted out his iconic accessories yet again—only this time he gave it a high-fashion spin, infusing it with a dash of Dior logomania. His signature topper and fringed mask were both plastered in Dior’s monogram, as were his denim shirt and jeans. It didn’t end there, either: his cowboy boots, also with fringing, had a Dior accent as well. Meanwhile, a giant belt buckle stayed true to his country-western roots. Consider his ensemble a crucial reminder that a fashion event, even as prestigious as a Dior one, doesn’t mean you have to compromise on your personal style codes. Yeehaw!
