Oregon State's play for a 315-pound lineman was a thing of beauty
Any time a lineman carries the ball is a thing of beauty. The latest example came from Oregon State during its game against Stanford on Thursday night.
The Beavers put together an impressive 12-play, 75-yard scoring drive to take a 7-3 lead in the second quarter. Before quarterback Darell Garretson finished it off with a short touchdown run, he found 315-pound lineman Fred Lauina for an eight-yard gain.
Just tremendous all-around. Look at the big man rumble!
One of the best parts of Oregon State calling this play was the reaction from the coaches on the sideline. Interim head coach Cory Hall was so excited.
Never in doubt.
Officially, the play goes in the books as an eight-yard run for Lauina since Garretson threw the pass backwards. The only thing that would have made it better was him reaching the end zone.
Despite coming up five yards short, Lauina was pretty excited.
As he should be.
