‘Orange Is the New Black’ Is Taking Over Newsstands

Just in time for its upcoming third season (June 6, people!), a large portion of the Orange Is the New Black cast has landed itself on some very high profile magazine covers.

Wednesday, Rolling Stone revealed its latest cover story featuring “ex girlfriends” Taylor Schilling and Laura Prepon. Inside the issue, there are plenty of stunning photos of the rest of the cast (see lead image, above)—but Schilling and Prepon are the only ones who can say they’ve had their picture on the cover of the Rolling Stone.

On the same day, Essence released its own cover for the month of July, starring some more OITNB actors: Laverne Cox, Samira Wiley, Danielle Brooks, Vicki Jeudy, Adrienne C. Moore, and Uzo Adubo. In a nod to their show, the six women wear varying shades of bright orange. Clever! But cute. They’re also hanging out by the beach. We want to go to there.

While we kind of wish that one magazine had taken on the task of including the entire cast together on one single cover, it’s still great to see such an ambitious group of women getting the hard-earned credit they deserve. What say you, fold-out cover champ Vanity Fair?
