This Is The One Thing Ashley Benson Wishes She Snatched from the Pretty Little Liars Set

With seven years of Pretty Little Liars officially behind her, Ashley Benson‘s starting a new chapter in her life. She just moved to New York, has a comedy film in the works and manages to provide us with cute style inspiration on the daily.

But still, Benson admits she has one regret since wrapping the hit show that shot her to fame in 2010: Not getting to take any clothes from her character Hanna Marin’s epic closet.

“They didn’t let us take anything!” Benson told PeopleStyle. “I was really excited to take her clothes. But everything is owned by Warner Bros. so we couldn’t really do much there. I was so sad.”

The 26-year-old star said that getting to slip into Hanna’s trendy wardrobe was one of the highlights of her experience on the show.

“I really enjoyed all her stuff because it’s been super cool vintage designer pieces, like vintage Chanel or Gucci,” Benson said. “I would never be able to find them on my own, but Cameron Dale, our wardrobe stylist, goes to all these cool outlets and vintage stores and comes back with these amazing pieces. I was always the one who got to wear cool stuff, so that was really awesome.”

Off-camera, Benson’s current style obsessions reflect much of what her on-screen alter ego typically wears — lots and lots of vintage, especially from the ’90s.

“I’m super into the ’90s right now,” Benson shared. “I love going into vintage stores and finding cool purses or different shoes or sweaters. Two years ago I found this vintage Chanel purse at a store in Santa Barbara that looks like a small wicker basket. And I just collect a bunch of vintage Levi’s with different rips everywhere.”

But chokers, the one ’90s-era trend popping up on everyone now from Bella Hadid to Kim Kardashian West, are a bit old news now for this star.

“Chokers are really rad, but it sucks because it feels like now everyone is wearing chokers,” Benson said. “It’s kind of done so I’ve stopped wearing them for a little bit.”

With the holiday season fast approaching, Benson’s ready to take a break from her busy lifestyle, hang up her shopping shoes and spend quality time with her family. “I don’t really believe in giving gifts anymore. We’re at that age where we don’t really need anything,” the star said. “I don’t get to see them often so cooking meals and being with my cousins and my grandparents is really awesome.”

She’s also making time to give back. Benson partnered with PayPal for this year’s #GivingTuesday to support a charity close to her heart, Wags and Walks. “It’s an amazing charity my friend Lesley started that rescues dogs that need families and homes,” the dog owner herself said. To help reach her giving goal, she’s raising money on GoFundMe for the cause.

And for those diehard Pretty Little Liars fans who are dying to know any and all details of what’s to come on the two-hour series finale this spring, Benson says there’s no chance any theories will pan out.

“When I found out the ending, it was really shocking. You would never think that would even be possible,” she said. “I think the fans are going to be really shocked. It completely came out of nowhere which was really cool. But everyone’s storyline kind of wraps up. There’s no way they will be able to figure it out!”
