One found dead in Little Egg Harbor home heavily damaged by fire

LITTLE EGG HARBOR−The search of a house on Harvest Way that was heavily damaged by fire Monday afternoon led to the discovery of the body of a man inside the home, authorities said.

Firefighters were called to the blaze about 1:45 p.m.

The body of the victim, who has not been identified, was taken to Community Medical Center in Toms River for a post-mortem examination, authorities said.

The Arson Unit of the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit, Little Egg Harbor detectives, the Ocean County Fire Marshal’s Office and the Ocean County Medical Examiner’s Office are investigating.

Details will follow when they become available, authorities said.
