OMFG: This Isn't A McDonald’s Filet-O-Fish Sandwich—It's A Cake
There are plenty of amazing cakes out there made to look like everything under the sun. But one cake shop owner just shared a fast food-inspired cake she made that’ll have you doing a double take.
Natalie Sideserf, who owns the Sideserf Cake Studio in Austin, TX, shared a video on her YouTube channel and Instagram of a McDonald’s Filet-O-Fish sandwich-inspired cake, and it’s super impressive.
“This CAKE looks just like a Filet-O-Fish Sandwich,” she wrote in the caption. Click on the video, and Sideserf breaks down exactly how she created the sandwich-cake. She started with yellow cake, added a layer of chocolate icing, and placed some more yellow cake on top. A layer of fondant created a smooth covering that she then molded into a Filet-O-Fish shape. (Sideserf placed a real-life Filet-O-Fish next to the cake for reference while she worked.)
Sideserf then painted on standard Filet-O-Fish colors and added texture to the “fish” to get the look perfect. Finally, she squeezed on a little layer of "tartar sauce."

People lost their collective minds in the comments, and fair. “This is why I've trust issues😂,” one person wrote. “Holy cow thats amazing!😲😲👏👏👏,” someone else said. “OMG now I'm hungry for cake AND filet O fish!!😁” another person chimed in.
No word on why Sideserf decided to make the cake or who it was for (a devout Filet-O-Fish fan, perhaps?) but, whew, it’s impressive.
This isn’t the first time Sideserf has showed off impressive creations. She’s also appeared on “Nailed It!” and “Texas Cake House.”
