Olivia Wilde Says Jason Sudeikis Is Not Paying Child Support Despite "Superior" Wealth

Jason Sudeikis and Olivia Wilde split nearly three years ago, and still, the actors have yet to reach an agreement regarding the co-parenting of their two children, Otis, 8, and Daisy, 6.

April 2023: Olivia says Jason is not paying her child support.
Wilde, in a new court filing, claims her ex "is not currently paying child support to me, despite my requests through counsel that we agree upon an interim support amount to avoid further litigation in this matter."
She adds, per documents obtained by The Blast, "While Jason and I have been splitting certain expenses for the children, such as their school tuition, I have been bearing 100% of the costs of the children's care when they are with me, including, but not limited to, their food, clothing, childcare, extracurricular activities, and transportation costs."
Wilde claims that she wants child support so she can "adequately provide for our children commensurate with Jason's standard of living." She also asks that Sudeikis her pay her legal fees, "not only due to him being in a significantly superior position than me financially, but because the vast majority of the fees I have incurred have been due to Jason and his counsel's egregious, unnecessary, and aggressive conduct."
March 2023: Olivia says Jason is acting "in bad faith."
Per legal filings obtained by the Daily Mail, Wilde is accusing her ex of trying to "litigate her into debt" and acting maliciously behind her back.
"While Jason can afford to spin his wheels with filing after filing, Olivia cannot," the papers read, per the outlet. "Jason seems intent on throwing whatever he can against the wall to see what will stick, and this Request for Order seeking a stay of the California Parentage action is just the latest example."
"While the details of Jason's finances are presently unknown as he refused to substantively respond to basic discovery, she is aware that he is far wealthier than she is," the filing allegedly continues.
She also accuses Sudeikis of "purposefully" not telling her or her legal team about a major court date, causing her to miss it.
"[Jason's] underhandedness and bad faith in these proceedings is astounding. I am completely perplexed at why he believes that engaging in intimidation or trickery will serve him or our children's best interests," the Don't Worry Darling star continues.
August 2022: Olivia opens up about the custody battle.
Wilde sits down with Variety for an in-depth conversation about the dissolution of her relationship with Sudeikis and the actor's alleged attempt to "sabotage" her CinemaCon presentation. "In any other workplace, it would be seen as an attack. It was really upsetting," she tells the outlet. "It shouldn’t have been able to happen."
She adds that while for her, being served onstage was "appalling," the real victims "were an 8 and 5 year old, and that's really sad." She says, "I chose to become an actress; I willingly walked into the spotlight. But it's not something my children have asked for. And when my kids are dragged into it, it's deeply painful."
August 2022: Jason's petition to move his kids to New York is denied.
Sudeikis's custody petition against Wilde is dismissed this week after a judge rules that the children's home state is California.
April 2022: Olivia is served court papers at a Hollywood event.
While Wilde is on stage at a During a Don't Worry Darling event at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, a man walks up to her and hands her a manila envelope marked with the phrase "personal and confidential." Confused, she asks, "Is this for me?" Though at the moment she does not address the occurrence, it is later revealed that the envelope contained custody documents.
Following the event, Wilde alleges that her ex's "outrageous legal tactics" were a calculated move. "The fact that Jason would embarrass me professionally and put our personal conflict on public display in this manner is extremely contrary to our children’s best interests," she says in legal documents. "Since Jason has made it clear that we will not be able to work this out for our children’s sake outside of the court system, I filed a petition for custody in Los Angeles."
Sudeikis, meanwhile, claims he didn't know the papers would be served to her at the event, and said he didn't want them to be delivered to her at Styles' house in case Otis and Daisy were there when it happened.
October 2021: Jason files to move his kids to New York City with him.
Sudeikis files a petition in New York City family court to move his children to New York City with him for a year despite the fact that they have spent most of their lives in Los Angeles.
Wilde accuses Sudeikis of going back on their previous agreement to let their kids finish the school year in LA while the actor films Ted Lasso in London.
"Recently, however, Jason decided that he wanted to go to New York for the next year while he is not working, and wanted the children to be with him there during this time off," Wilde claims in her filing, per court documents obtained by Daily Mail. "When I did not agree, since the children have not lived in New York for several years, Jason filed these papers."
January 2021: Olivia begins dating Harry Styles.
Wilde and the "Watermelon Sugar" singer are spotted holding hands while attending the wedding of Harry Styles's manager, Jeffrey Azoff. The two met on the set of Wilde's film Don't Worry Darling, which she directed and in which Styles starred. (The two split the following year, in November.)
November 2020: Olivia and Jason split.
Wilde and Sudeikis called off their engagement in November 2020 after nine years together.
