Olivia Rodrigo Wore a Vintage Chanel Suit to Meet President Biden at the White House

How does a Gen Z pop star dress to meet the U.S. president? She goes vintage... vintage Chanel, that is. Olivia Rodrigo was photographed arriving at the White House around 11:30 A.M. ET to meet President Joe Biden in a pink tweed suit from the French fashion house. She paired the look with high black socks, white platform heels, and a black micro bag.
Biden and Rodrigo are teaming up to promote COVID-19 vaccination outreach to young people and will be recording a PSA to be released on both Rodrigo and the POTUS' social channels. Biden teased the meeting on his Instagram yesterday, sharing a throwback image of himself from his youth. “I know this young person would’ve gotten vaccinated, but we’ve got to get other young people protected as well. Who’s willing to help?” he wrote.
Rodrigo commented, “i’m in! see you tomorrow at the white house!”
Rodrigo is having a big year with the success of her first album Sour and hit songs “good 4 u” and, of course, “drivers license.” The singer reflected to ELLE in April about how she’s determining which parts of herself she wants to share publicly versus keep private.
“I think songwriting has really helped me home in on what I like about myself and my art,” she started. Generally, she wants to be honest, vulnerable, and not contrived. “I just want to be effortless, I guess. Whether it’s in my fashion or my songs or my social media, I want to just be like, ‘Yo, this is me. And I’m sometimes weird as fuck, and I’m sometimes polished and put together.’”
