Great genes run in the family. Yes, you may know Olivia Jade Giannulli as Lori Loughlin’s daughter — the two could be twins, in fact — but 17-year-old Giannulli has also broken out as a legit beauty and lifestyle guru. Since launching her YouTube channel in 2014 she has gained close to 900,000 subscribers. This spring she launched an app, Olivia Jade, and we are totally predicting (wishing for) a makeup line in her future. Yahoo Beauty spoke to Giannulli, going behind-the-scenes with one of social media’s new faces to know.

The first makeup I ever used was: When I was in 7th grade and I was going to my first party where I’d meet all the new boys. I decided I would smudge black on my lower lash line and wear nothing else for makeup. Huge mistake.

The worst makeup mistake I ever made was: NOT BLENDING DOWN MY NECK! When I first started wearing foundation, I never knew the importance of blending down the neck so everything looks seamless. I’ll never make that mistake again.

I feel most beautiful when: I am wearing moisturizer and eye cream and am makeup free! I love feeling rejuvenated with a clean face and hydrating products!

The one thing that’s too personal, for me, to share with my followers is: My private life in terms of where I live and what I talk about with my family.

This is what I would say to young girl who feels like they have to look a certain way, based on what they see on social media: You have to remember that people always are going to put out their best image for the world to see. No one truly shares their insecurities, or “bad angles,” etc. Always remember you were made different for a reason and if everyone looked and acted the same, the world would be a very boring place.

My body-positive mantra is: I always tell myself “you’ll never regret a workout” when contemplating if I should exercise.

The first time I raided my mom’s closet was: I actually started raiding her closet recently because I am finally the same size as her. I lovveeeee stealing her shoes and purses. Sorry mom!

The best beauty advice I ever got from her was: Less is more.

I feel insecure, or question myself, when: I see the “perfect” body or the most “perfect” photo on social media. It’s hard to not compare yourself and think “why can’t I look like that?” It’s important to remember that everyone is beautiful in their own way and photos go through many edits before they are posted.

My biggest beauty splurge ever was: My Lancer skincare products. My wallet cries every time but my skin never regrets it.

In 10 years I see myself:
Wow 10 years . . . I’ll be 27. Ideally I would love to be happily married and have my own makeup or fashion line. I definitely think I’ll still be on YouTube doing beauty videos if YouTube is still a thing! Oh, and I hope I’ve made it through college, haha!
