After the success of WandaVision, the first television series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Disney+ is sticking with a popular formula. The streamer recently announced Secret Invasion, yet another piece of the profitable franchise. The show will spin off 2019's Captain Marvel movie and see a slate of A-list stars.

While the series' development is still in early stages, here is what we know about Secret Invasion thus far.

Olivia Colman is reportedly in talks to join the show.

The Oscar-winning actress, known especially for her tenure as Queen Elizabeth on The Crown, may be making her Marvel debut with Secret Invasion. Though it is not set in stone, The Hollywood Reporter noted that Colman is currently in negotiations to join the series. It is not yet clear what role she would play.

Colman is coming off a banner year—she is now nominated for a best supporting actress Oscar for her role in British drama The Father.

Samuel L. Jackson and Ben Mendelsohn will star in Secret Invasion.

Since the show is based off of Captain Marvel, the two actors will reprise their prior Marvel Cinematic Universe roles. Jackson will play popular secret agent Nick Fury, who has appeared in eleven of twenty-three MCU films. Mendelsohn will return as Talos, the shapeshifter alien, from a race known as the Skrulls.

According to Variety, Kingsley Ben-Adir, best known for his role as Malcolm X in One Night in Miami, will join as the main villain.

Emilia Clarke also may be in the series.

Variety reports that the Game of Thrones star is in final negotiations to join the series. This would be Clarke's first appearance in the MCU. Her possible role has not yet been disclosed.

The plot is being kept under wraps.

Disney+ and Marvel are being tight-lipped about the series' subject matter. All we know is that it will jump off of the Captain Marvel plot and that an infiltration of Skrulls on Earth somehow figures into the story.

Watch on Disney+.

Though the show does not yet have an air date, you will only be able to tune in on Disney+. There, you'll also find WandaVision and all of the other Marvel movies.
