With Offset at her Side, Cardi B Takes Birthday Style to the Next Level
When it comes to date night, certain famous couples—think J-Rod, Nick and Priyanka—embrace complementary dressing in a subtle and elegant way. But for Cardi B and Offset, a night out on the town doesn’t result in matching looks. In fact, for them it almost turns into a competition of whose capital-F fashion lewk can outdo the other. The duo stepped out together to celebrate Cardi B’s 26th birthday in New York City this weekend, and the celebratory event only meant one thing for the two stylish rappers: a battle of fresh-off-the-runway ensembles.
For her big birthday bash, Cardi B wore an eye-popping runway look from Moschino’s Spring 2019 collection that was covered in trompe-l’oeil clothing sketches. She took the label’s white trench-style dress with pink marker scribbles to the next level with matching doodled tights and a large side-angled brim hat.
Equally as graphic, but much sportier in feel, Offset’s outfit featured Prada’s mint green sport pants and a flame-printed button-up from the Fall 2018 collection, as well as several silver chains around his neck and wrists. Given both their selections offered up bold, impactful prints, it proved that artful clashing is sometimes better than twinning at all.
