This town came together to celebrate the lives of the seven people killed in the West Texas mass shooting.
A vigil was held Sunday, September 1 in Odessa, Texas to honor the seven victims. At least 22 others were injured in the shooting, including a 17-month-old who will undergo surgery for her injuries.
“Nothing could have prepared us for a moving active shooter tragedy that happened,” Odessa Mayor David Turner stated.

The Odessa community has established GoFundMe pages for some of the expenses of the grieving families. One page already has more than $40,000 in donations.
“We will get through this tragedy by moving forward one day at a time, one week at a time, and one year at a time, Turner said.
