Video: Woman attacks Burger King employee over tomato on burger

A woman from Harper Woods, Mich., faces a number of charges, including assault and battery, after she attacked a clerk at a Livonia Burger King for including a tomato on a burger she ordered.

WXYZ reports that Porsha Tyler entered the Burger King on Jan. 27 and demanded her money back for a burger she bought the previous day. She claimed it had tomatoes on it, which she said she specifically did not order. Tyler also claimed she had the burger with her.

Captain Ron Taig with Livonia police said, “The clerk was more than kind to her and offered her a refund of food. Porsha wasn’t having that. She obviously didn’t get it her way that day and she went on a tirade.”

According to investigators, the clerk offered the woman food or food credit, but Tyler wanted the money back. When the clerk informed her that would not be possible, Tyler can be seen repeatedly trying to climb the counter as her fiancé held her back. She threw both a cookie rack and a wet floor sign at the clerk. Tyler then threw food in the clerk’s face before leaving the Burger King.

“We want people to know this isn’t acceptable behavior,” Capt. Taig told the outlet. “Whether it’s a restaurant or road rage, incidents like this can spill into so much more.”

Police were able to catch up to Tyler, who initially lied about her name to officers. She has been charged with obstruction, malicious damage to property, disorderly conduct and assault and battery.

But this wasn’t Tyler’s last brush with bad behavior in a place of business.

Less than two weeks after her tantrum at Burger King, the woman was arrested for an incident that occurred at a Cricket Wireless. Angry that the cell phone she wanted didn’t come with a new contract, the 34-year-old ruined a phone display and stole a phone from the store. She was charged with larceny, as well as disturbing the peace.
