Lizzo is all about self-love, but she has love for Myke Wright too.

Lizzo and Myke Wright are finally red carpet official!

Historically, the pop singer has not revealed much about her romantic life—and true to form, so far she’s remained quite private about her latest paramour. But here's everything we know about Lizzo’s boyfriend Myke Wright.

Is Lizzo in a relationship?

During a recent sitdown on Andy Cohen’s SiriusXM program, the singer confirmed that she’s officially in a relationship, though she didn't mention Myke Wright by name. Paparazzi spotted her dining with a mystery man on Valentine’s Day at Craig’s in West Hollywood, and when Cohen inquired whether that guy was still in the picture, she replied nonchalantly, “Yeah, whatever,” before adding with a laugh, “Yeah.”

Lizzo and her man were also spotted at Crustacean Beverly Hills in October 2021 and in Malibu in March 2022, but she's remained coy about naming him explicitly. When Cohen asked if dating in the public eye was a challenge, Lizzo replied confidently, “If you have the right person, no, not at all. It is not even a factor. It should be mutually supportive no matter what that person does.”

She also confirmed to Cohen that her beau supported her in person when she appeared on the April 16, 2022, episode of Saturday Night Live.

Is Lizzo married?

The Detroit native has never been engaged or married, and the closest she’s come to walking down the aisle is when she iconically married herself in her “Truth Hurts” music video.

While she’s never publicly discussed her thoughts on the institution of marriage, Lizzo has talked about needing her own space when in a relationship. In 2019, she told PEOPLE, “I'm a single-minded individual, and I really like my freedom. I think there's a lot of people that need to be in relationships and need to be in love. I want it sometimes, but I don't need it.”

Still, she told Vanity Fair there was one way she may get married to boyfriend Myke Wright: "Do I want to get married? If I wanted to start a business with him, I'd get married because that's when your finances come together."

Lizzo is dating Myke Wright. The pair were first spotted together in March 2021, though they've gone out of their way to keep their relationship quiet before making their red carpet debut at a pre-Grammy gala in February 2023.

On her decision to become somewhat more public with her romance with Wright, especially in her lyrics and her Love, Lizzo documentary, she explained to Glamour, "I've known him for over six years. He's everything. We're just in love. And that's it. People fight for monogamy like they pray to it every day. I am not a polyamorous person, I'm not in love with multiple partners. That is not me. He's the love of my life. We are life mates."

She told Audacy Check-In in September 2022, "Well, I am in love. He has [his] own name for me. He calls me Melly." She referenced the nickname in her hit "2 Be Loved (Am I Ready)," singing, "He call me Melly (ayy), he squeeze my belly (yeah) / I'm too embarrassed (ah) to say I like it."

Lizzo and Myke Wright co-hosted MTV's Wonderland in 2016, but it's unclear if they met prior to that. They looked pretty cute and cozy in this snap from a Wonderland live show on November 2016!

Who has Lizzo dated?

Lizzo has never publicly named any of her past boyfriends but has credited them as inspiration for some of her biggest hits. Her 2018 relationship is referenced as the unnamed Gemini on her song “Soulmate,” though she later told Rolling Stone that the relationship inspired “practically every song” on the album Cuz I Love You. The relationship ended largely due to her need for freedom, but she remained thankful for the experience. “As f***ed up as it sounds, I needed that heartbreak experience,” she explained. “I’m not sad, because I use the pain so constructively. It’s inevitable. The pain is human experience.”

Before that, Lizzo fell in love at 19, but found herself changing too much of herself for that relationship. “Skinny guys like me,” she said. “But I remember he was like, ‘I’m a little guy. I need a little girl.’” Leaving that relationship helped her focus on the body positivity and self-acceptance that she’s known for now.

Is Lizzo dating someone on the Minnesota Vikings?

Lizzo has deep ties to Minnesota, where she not only grew up for part of her life, but also met and was mentored by none other than Prince. On her 2017 smash hit “Truth Hurts,” she mentions a “new man on the Minnesota Vikings,” the identity of whom fans and Vikings players alike have been trying to decipher ever since. Lizzo confirmed she did go on a date with a Vikings player in an interview with YouTuber Zachary Campbell, stating that, “This Minnesota Viking was in my DMs and we were chatting, we were texting, we went on a date.”

She later told a Detroit concert crowd that the “boy problems” referenced on the track were about a guy from the Motor City.

Fans have speculated the song to be about linebacker Eric Wilson who is from a suburb of Detroit, though he has denied the claims. Sporting News also threw out a fun theory about cornerback Terence Newman, who was on the Vikings squad from 2015-2017 before transitioning to a coaching role, being the mystery man. While there isn’t much evidence, the outlet pointed to his last name as the wordplay proof needed.

Is Chris Evans dating Lizzo?

While she has openly flirted with Captain America himself (and he’s flirted back!), Lizzo and Hollywood A-lister Chris Evans aren’t a couple. What started in 2019 with an innocent quote tweet, set off years of social media flirtation and many, many jokes about marriage.

In 2021, Lizzo admitted to sliding into Evans’ DMs while drunk, to which he actually replied AND mentioned being a fan.

Later that year, rumors began to spread about a potential pregnancy. Lizzo responded to a fan’s theory about the baby daddy on TikTok, playing up the joke. “This is something I've really been trying to keep personal and private. Just between me and the father of my child. But since we're airing out all of the rumors today, I've been sucking in. We're gonna have a little America.” Evans, ever the good sport, responded with, “Hi! Just heard about our little bundle of joy. My mother will be so happy lol.”

Lizzo also isn’t dating fellow pop megastar Harry Styles. Their friendship dates back to 2019 when Styles covered her hit song “Juice” on BBC Radio 1 and complimented her artistry, saying, “She's exactly what you want an artist to be... which is yourself.” They later performed the song together in Miami at her Super Bowl LIV concert.

Lizzo later returned the favor when she covered his radio hit “Adore You” for BBC Radio 1 in 2020. The pair has also had fun in public appearances at the 2020 Brit Awards and 2021 Grammys, but to date, their relationship is entirely (and fantastically) platonic.
