Northern Illinois’ statue of Diesel the Husky is real and it’s spectacular.

The school unveiled a statue of Diesel high-fiving before Thursday night’s game against Eastern Michigan.

Diesel is high-fiving in the statue to memorialize his awesome 2013 high-five with a cheerleader. Look at this damn good dog.

Good dog.

The school raised the $25,000 for the statue throughout the year. Diesel, the school’s mascot for nine years, retired after the 2013 season and died in 2015. The team’s current husky mascot is named Mission.
