Northern California to see rain, chill and wind Memorial Day weekend — depending where you go
Temperatures for the three-day holiday weekend in Northern California will feel different, depending where you decide to spend it.
Whether you have plans to stay in the Sacramento area or drive around Northern California, here is what you can expect:

Sacramento
If you have plans stay locally for the holiday weekend, you can expect mostly sunny skies and warm temperatures.
Highs will remain in the 80s, then overnight temperatures will dip into the mid 50s, according to the weather service.
Friday and Saturday breezy winds of about 11 mph are forecast for the area.
Heading to the Sierra?
Thunderstorms are forecast in the Sierra everyday through the weekend, said Chelsea Peters, a weather service meteorologist.
This could bring brief heavy rain, lightning, small hail and gusty winds, Peters said.
Temperatures highs around Lake Tahoe will reach around 62 degrees on Saturday and lows will remain in the mid 40s throughout the weekend, according to the weather service five day forecast.
“Basically every afternoon and into the evening we’re expecting some thunderstorms,” Peters said.
If you're headed into the mountains this weekend, be aware there's potential (up to 40%) for thunderstorms! Potential impacts include:

Gusty winds

Bay Area
May gray continues through the weekend in San Francisco.
Temperature highs will remain in the 60s with lows dipping into the 50s overnight, according to the weather service forecast.
