There’s no denying that Normani has all the makings of a star. Even aside from her music, she’s managed to cement herself as one to watch in the fashion space, as her latest red-carpet look at the 2021 Video Music Awards shows.

Introducing viewers to London-based brand Patrycja Pagas, the “Wild Side” singer wore a faux leather two-piece skirt set for the occasion. The white mini and cropped jacket combination showed off her toned abs, like a more elevated version of the bare midriff trend that’s everywhere right now. Normani kept the rest of the look pared-back with a sleek braid and subtle silver accessories.

It makes sense that the former Fifth Harmony member would pull out all the stops for the event—considering she performed during the night’s festivities. After Normani’s fans petitioned for the singer to be added to the lineup with the hashtag #LetNormaniPerform, it was announced earlier this week that she would be joining the likes of host Doja Cat, Alicia Keys, Justin Bieber and Kacey Musgraves at the event.

“I don’t know where to start with you guys,” the singer tweeted to her loyal fan base upon learning she was going to be performing. “You’re my heart and soul and always stuck by me through all the f——ing adversities. First shall be the last and last shall be my first MY NATION I love you.”
