Good news for Oasis fans: there’s a new album on the horizon. However, it won’t feature both of the notoriously feuding siblings. Instead, Noel Gallagher is planning to re-record 14 tracks that didn’t make it onto the band’s previous albums - and he’s doing it without brother Liam.

The Sun reports that Noel was inspired to assemble the album by his emotional connection to these rediscovered tracks. “They just fell by the wayside of various projects from down the years,” he says. “I’m going to record them. Some are quite old school. I was looking at the track listing and thinking ‘Actually, f---ing hell, no I’d approach that song differently. It’s been very interesting.”

Oasis split in 2009 after a public falling out between Noel and Liam Gallagher. Last year, Noel announced through the band’s social media pages that a new demo recording, Don’t Stop…, would be released - it had previously only been heard from a soundcheck recording, and was rediscovered during the pandemic. It reached number 80 on the UK singles chart purely through streaming.

And, on New Year’s Day 2021, Liam teased a reunion by tweeting at his brother: “HNY Noel love you long time 2021 is our year c’mon you know LG x.”

Previously, appearing on The Jonathan Ross Show in November, Liam claimed that the pair had been offered £100 million for a set of reunion gigs, but that Noel had turned it down. Liam said: “When someone offers you £100 million to do a few gigs and that man, you’re going to go, ‘Alright then yeah…’ There was a lot of money knocking about.” He continued: “It was £100 million to do a tour and that and I’m thinking, ‘I’m not a d---head, know what I mean? I’ll have a bit of that.’ He’s not into it is he? He’s after a knighthood, isn’t he?”

Nevertheless, betting company Ladbrokes have given odds of 10/1 for an Oasis reunion in 2021.

Liam recently gave an eccentric performance from a cargo boat on the Thames, during which he swore at the London Eye, and vented his frustration at the Prime Minister and the Chancellor.
