What’s better than homemade ice cream? We’ll wait.

The creamy, frozen dessert is truly the best of the best, especially when it’s made from scratch, but it’s also notoriously difficult (and time-consuming) to make at home. That’s why the Ninja CREAMi Deluxe Frozen Treat Maker ($249; $200) caught our attention.

On an episode of Take My Money, PureWow content creator Kate Kesselman tries out the nifty 11-in-1 ice cream machine to see if it simplifies the process enough to justify its expensive price tag. So, is the Ninja CREAMi Deluxe Ice Cream Maker really worth the hype (and the price tag)? Keep scrolling to find out.

In the episode (see above), Kesselman attempts to make her very own batch of vanilla ice cream with chocolate chips. To make the tasty treat, she used the ingredients as follows:

  • 1 tbsp of cream cheese

  • ⅓ cups of sugar

  • 1 tbsp of vanilla

  • ¾ cup of heavy cream

  • 1 cup of whole milk

  • ¼ cup of mini chocolate chips

While mixing the ingredients in a bowl, Kesselman talks about how she’s heard nothing but great things said about the ice cream maker. “I have had friends use this device and they said it changes the game when it comes to smoothies and ice cream. They really love it in their home,” she says in the video.

She goes on to say that the Ninja CREAMi Deluxe would be a fun addition to a gathering or event of some sort. “I think this device would be really fun if you’re at a family retreat [or] a gathering and you guys make different ice cream flavors. [Then], kinda compare and contrast who’s is better.”
