This year, the No. 1 thing on my Black Friday shopping list was a new coffee machine. I did my research and decided to go for the Ninja DualBrew Pro Specialty Coffee Maker. When the day came, I couldn’t enter my credit card fast enough. And let me tell you, it’s easily the best purchase I’ve made this holiday season.

If you too want a souped-up coffee maker such as this one, you’ll be glad to know that it’s still on sale. Right now, at Best Buy, you can score the Ninja coffee maker for $90 off.

But first, let me tell you why it’s great.

Last year, all I wanted for Christmas was a Nespresso Vertuo Next coffee machine. However, the machine turned out to be pretty disappointing. Coffee exploded all over my wall once when I wasn’t home, and the machine leaked often. I had to keep it on a tray to protect the counter. Customer service told me it was leaking because I needed to clean it more, and let me tell you, the cleaning process is definitely a process. The brewer gave off a weird burnt coffee smell, too (no matter how often I cleaned it). It was more high maintenance than I am.

So after one year, I called it quits on my Nespresso machine and switched to Ninja. Now, I’m kind of obsessed with my new coffee maker.

The Ninja DualBrew Pro 12-Cup Specialty Coffee Maker brews 13 different cup and carafe sizes, ranging from 4 ounces to 55 ounces. You can also choose to brew a classic cup, a rich cup, brew over ice or make specialty drinks like a cappuccino or latte. Simply choose your preferred size and brew style on its sleek touchscreen display. On the side, there’s also an attached milk frother that folds away when you’re not using it.

It also has a setting that switches it from coffee brewer to water boiler — use it for tea, oatmeal, hot soup or whatever else you may need hot or boiling water for. The water dispenses from a separate spout, so it won’t pick up any leftover coffee residue.

The best part about this coffee maker, however, is that you can use K-cups or regular coffee grounds. Pop in the Ninja Pod Adapter and use any K-Cups of your choice (there are seriously hundreds of choices). If you prefer ground coffee, slide out the adapter and pop in a standard coffee filter before adding your grounds. (There’s also an included coffee scooper that conveniently hangs on the side of the machine with a guide for how much you need to scoop, depending on the size of your brew.)

A few other great perks include the fact that this coffee maker is compact — it’s 15.5 inches tall, 11.4 inches long and 9.1 inches wide. However, you can place the coffee machine’s 60-ounce water reservoir on the side or the back to optimize counter space.

If you brew a pot of coffee using the included carafe, there’s a warming plate just like any standard coffee machine. If you’re brewing only one cup, there’s a pull-down platform for holding your mug. There’s also a drip-stop lever that you can use to close the spout when you’re done brewing your coffee. This way, leftover coffee doesn’t drip onto the machine.

I’d say that within five minutes of plugging in this Ninja coffee maker, I was able to brew my first cup with ease. There wasn’t much of a learning curve, and it was very easy to clean.

One thing to note is that there’s a Ninja DualBrew coffee machine and a Ninja DualBrew Pro version. I got the Pro! The standard version doesn’t include the milk frother, the water reservoir is fixed to the side (it doesn’t move to the back), the display is a little different, the coffee and water share the same spout, and it doesn’t brew specialty coffee sizes.

I think it’s worth getting the Pro version because it’s going for the same price as the standard version right now. (You can get the Ninja DualBrew Coffee Maker for $40 off at Best Buy, making it $159.99.)

Yes, I’ll be bragging about my new Ninja DualBrew Pro Specialty Coffee Maker for a while now. The fact that I got it on sale was just another plus.
