Actors and directors joined members of the Writers Guild of America (WGA) in Los Angeles, who were on strike for a second week on Tuesday, May 9.

Cara Greene Epstein posted this video of Reno 911 actor Niecy Nash belting out ‘I Will Survive’ outside Paramount Pictures in Los Angeles on Tuesday as filmmaker Ava DuVernay (Selma; A Wrinkle in Time) takes a video. A table behind Nash bears a poster that says “Picket Line Karaoke.”

“Meeting icons and taking names. We will survive and get a fair contract!” Epstein wrote on Twitter.

On May 2, productions for shows like Saturday Night Live were halted after failed negotiations between the guild and media companies such as Netflix, Amazon, Apple, Discovery, Paramount, Sony, NBC Universal, and Disney. Credit: Cara Greene Epstein via Storyful
