It’s no secret that the Women’s Health team is a big fan of Nicole Scherzinger and her mega-sculpted abs and legs (ahem, exhibit A, B, and C). The Masked Singer judge is major fitspo, so when I finally got the opportunity to chat with the former The Pussycat Dolls frontwoman and, uh, living legend, I obviously had to ask her about her fierce fitness routine.

“I like to switch it up and try new things, but, most recently, I’ve just been pretty consistent with more HIIT workouts,” she tells WH. More specifically, the actress and singer enjoys cardio HIIT and HIIT with weights. A typical routine for her might look like running on the treadmill for a few minutes before doing a circuit of weights, then doing some more cardio before completing another circuit. “I feel like I get more results that way."

And she’s definitely flaunting those exceptional gains. A few weeks ago, the 44-year-old nearly broke the internet with an Instagram post she shared of her taking a cold plunge while sporting a cute brown cut-out swimsuit.

“Monday Mood. Ice bath at 37 degrees Fahrenheit for 6 minutes 👊🏾 No pain. No gain. #focused #mondaymotivation,” she captioned the series of photos and a video.

When it comes to fitness, Nicole’s motto is: Consistently try new things. “I love doing everything from SoulCycle spinning and climbing to boxing and dance cardio,” she says. “It’s really good to always keep your body guessing and to always switch it up.”

As the holidays roll around, however, Nicole isn’t hitting those HIIT circuits as hard. “I call it my hibernating period,” she tells WH. “During this time, it’s all about balance and moderation.”

Rather than following her usual fitness schedule, which is anywhere from three times to up to six times a week, Nicole has instead been opting for long outdoor walks. A word of wisdom from the “Don’t Hold Your Breath” singer: “You can’t grind all the time, you need that balance.” (BRB, writing that down.)

But her rigorous fitness routine isn’t the only thing keeping this multi-hyphenate looking and feeling so good. Nicole’s diet, which consists of a lot of teas, is also a vital part of her wellness routine. That’s why, just in time for the holiday season, the singer-songwriter has partnered with celebrity-favorite tea brand, VAHDAM Teas, to curate a limited-edition gift box set of her favorite blends—and a signature tumbler—to share her love of tea with fans. (Hey, Santa, yeah I know what I want for Christmas.)

If you’re curious to know what else the Grammy-nominated artist and creator of One Direction (sorry not sorry, Simon) eats and drinks—other than tea, obvi—to stay energized and healthy, Nicole chatted with Women’s Health to share everything she eats in a day. Read on for all the juicy deets.

Breakfast

In addition to taking a step back with her workout routine, Nicole’s also been taking a slower approach when it comes to her diet and eating schedule. “I’m not on the grind as much with my workouts, so I’m intermittent fasting,” she tells WH. As a result, breakfast for her right now is pretty much a whole lot of tea and water.

“I wake up and have a cup of tea, usually [VAHDAM’s] Mint Melody Green Tea or their Turmeric Spiced Herbal Tea, and then I usually won’t eat until the afternoon,” she says.

Lunch

Since she skips breakfast while on her current intermittent fasting diet, and is a big fan of breakfast foods, Nicole will usually have breakfast for lunch. What’s on the menu? “I love eggs and gluten-free bread with a side of smoked salmon or some ham.” Yum!

Oh, and if it’s a good day, she’ll also add a side of sliced cherry tomatoes. “They’re just my favorite,” she says. And some avocado.

And if she’s running short on time, she’ll often just pick up a simple salad.

Snacks

As a self-proclaimed snack aficionado, she has quite a few go-to's: raw almonds, cherry tomatoes, snap peas, Himalayan salt popcorn, and dark chocolate—preferably with sea salt or almonds.

“If I have some frozen fruit laying around, I’ll make an oat milk smoothie,” she says. “Sometimes I’ll put turmeric powder in it, which is delicious and anti-inflammatory.”

When Nicole is craving something savory, she doesn't hesitate: “I love chips.” More specifically? She loves salt and vinegar flavored potato chips and Cheetos. But she'll pass on puffed versions: It's “real Cheetos or the fire hot ones.” Noted.

Dinner

Around 6 p.m., Nicole will usually settle down for dinner. On most days, she likes to keep it simple: a meat protein, grain, and veggies. “It’s usually like chicken and rice, fish and rice, and then a side of vegetables,” she says.

Other times, she might opt for a gluten-free pasta dish.

Dessert

Nicole loves a sweet treat to finish her meal. “We’ll be here all day,” she tells me during our conversation. Her favorites consist of anything with a cream cheese frosting. “I love red velvet cake with cream cheese icing; carrot cake with cream cheese icing,” she says.

If she’s not having cake, you’ll probably find Nicole munching on some candy—mostly dark chocolate—or soft cookies, oh, and muffins. “I love muffins and cakes.”

Drinks

After dinner—and dessert—Nicole will usually end her day with a warm cup of herbal tea. “Before I go to bed, I end my night with tea,” she says. Her current bedtime tea of choice is VAHDAM’s Hibiscus Rose Herbal Tea, which you can find in her assorted gift collection. “I love it because I’m Hawaiian, and it makes me think of home.”

Nicole’s also a fan of mint tea, which she argues you can have at any time of day. “There’s never not a right time for mint tea. That’s my motto.”

And in my opinion, it seems like a worthy rule of thumb to go by. Who doesn’t want to cuddle up with a warm cup of tea when temperatures drop below 40?
