Nicole Kidman & Alexander Skarsgård Will Reunite for New Movie

Step aside, Big Little Lies. Nicole Kidman is re-teaming up with Alexander Skarsgård for an all-new movie, where they will play—drumroll, please—Vikings.

The duo is set to star in an all-new revenge saga, titled The Northman, according to Variety. The film will take place in Iceland at the turn of the 10th century and will follow a group of Vikings who are fighting to survive.

In addition to Kidman and Skarsgård, several notable names are also in talks to join the cast, including Anya Taylor-Joy (The Witch, Last Night in Soho), Willem Dafoe (The Lighthouse) and Bill Skarsgård (It Chapter Two), who is Alexander’s younger brother.

The Northman will be directed by Robert Eggers (The Lighthouse), who will co-write the script alongside Icelandic poet and novelist Sjón (The Blue Fox). Lars Knudsen (Midsummer) will serve as an executive producer.

This won’t be the first time that Kidman and Skarsgård have starred opposite each other. The pair originally played Celeste and Perry Wright in HBO’s Big Little Lies. Although (spoiler alert!) his character was killed in the season one finale, Skarsgård still made appearances in flashbacks during the show’s second installment.

Unfortunately, we don’t know any more details about The Northman, like whether Kidman and Skarsgård will play lovers or—dare we say—siblings. But hey, we’ll take what we can get.
