Nicole Curtis Is Returning To HGTV With New Series Where She'll Help Homeowners Restore Old Houses

Well, it looks like 2021 is already looking up. HGTV has announced that the hit renovation show Rehab Addict, which ran from 2010 to 2018 and made Nicole Curtis a star, is getting a reboot. Enter: Rehab Addict Rescue!
Set to premiere on Thursday, January 28, at 9 p.m. ET/PT, this eight-episode series will continue to follow Curtis as she rescues homeowners who are totally overwhelmed by the renovation process. Unlike in Rehab Addict, where she overhauled historic homes herself, this show will focus on helping homeowners who tried to do the same—but are in need of some professional help.
In each episode, Curtis will meet with families whose home restoration projects went awry. She’ll first identify each home’s must-haves. Think: new electrical wiring, updated plumbing, or structural repairs. Next, she'll work on beautifying the home. Sticking to the family's budget, she'll tackle projects like reviving original hardwood floors, refreshing kitchens and bathrooms, and enhancing original architectural elements. Ultimately, Curtis will help clear away the mess so families can finally feel at home.
"For years, I’ve been saving old houses from demolition and renovating them,” Curtis said in a statement. "In that time, we’ve inspired a lot of people to do the same. Then we get their calls for help. Now we’re here to save them when they find out what it really takes to save an old house."
Curtis revealed that she's "so happy that people aspire to save these stately old places," adding "I love helping them find a way to turn a nightmare project into the family home they’ve always wanted."
Rehab Addict Rescue will premiere on HGTV on Thursday, January 28, at 9 p.m. ET/PT. In addition to airing on HGTV, each new episode will be available on discovery+, Discovery Inc.’s new subscription streaming service.
