Girls Aloud star Nicola Roberts is relieved after her £1.25million mansion which reminded her of her stalker ex was repossessed after failing to sell it for over two years.
Ms Roberts revealed that she felt “at peace” to get rid of the home in Weybridge, Surrey, after she was left with no choice but have it reclaimed in a mutual agreement with the bank and start afresh.
She moved into the three-bedroom penthouse in 2009 and renovated it adding a gym and a walk-in wardrobe.
In 2017, Ms Roberts, 34, was granted a lifetime restraining order against her ex-boyfriend, Carl Davies, after he subjected her to five years of stalking hell.
Davies set up fake social media accounts so that he could bombard Nicola with abusive messages threatening to “stab and burn” her.
She told The Sun: “I had been trying to sell the house for years, and was so unhappy there that I decided to take the hit financially in order to move on and find a new property away from the bad memories.
“I’m really happy in my new home now.”
Some of the messages contained declarations of love, while others made veiled death threats.

Davies, a former soldier whom she dated for 18 months, was given a suspended 15-month prison sentence.
The pair split in 2008 because of their explosive rows and Carl did not start messaging the star until 2012.
"The messages he sent reminded me of all the terrible things that happened when we were together," Miss Roberts said in a victim impact statement.
"It was only really last year when he started threatening my friend that I realised things couldn't go on and I reported it to the police."
She said at the time: ‘When somebody sends a message saying, “Those are nice pyjamas” you think “is he able to see into my house?”
‘You are too scared to take the dogs out for a walk because when someone plants vicious seeds you just imagine every possible outcome.
A source close to Nicola said of the court case: “Nicola is relieved she no longer has to live in fear or suffer abuse but it is going to take her a long time to move on from this.”
She has now relocated to London to begin a new chapter.
