Nicki Minaj changes name on Twitter prompting rumours she's secretly wed

She told the world back in June that she planned to marry boyfriend Kenneth Petty. Now fans think Nicki Minaj may have secretly tied the knot with her beau after she updated her Twitter account yesterday.

The rapper changed her name from “Ms Minaj” to “Mrs Petty” on her official Twitter account.

While there’s been no official statement as yet, the Megatron singer did reveal on Monday that she was planning to wed within “eighty days”.

Minaj made the revelation on her Queen Radio show, saying, “[We] filed for the marriage license and we still had to pick it up and I was traveling, by the time I came back, we had to renew it again,” she explained.

“From that time, you have 90 days to get married. That was about a week ago, so now I have about 80 days.”

If she has wed quietly it wouldn’t come as a massive surprise. The singer is in the middle of a new album and has no time for a big celebration. Her single Megatron was released back in June and since then there have been several collaborations and remixes keeping her busy.

She explained “I have to work on my album and I have a lot to focus on that [so] I don’t want to do the big wedding now,” But that doesn’t mean that she won’t have a party soon.

“We’ll do the big wedding later. I’ll be married before my album comes out, but will have my wedding after the album comes out.”

Minaj has known Petty since her youth, but the coupling has been controversial at times. Petty has been two prison twice – once for rape and one for manslaughter.

The rapper released Hot Girl Summer wit Megan Thee Stallion just last week, with some already calling it the tune of the summer. No wonder Minaj has no time to comment on her marital status.
