Nick Jonas Gives His Golden Globes Tux a Western Twist with a Prada Bolo Tie

When it comes to awards shows, men in Hollywood only have so many options for the red carpet: a suit, a tux, a harness worn overtop (if you’re daring). But tonight at the 77th annual Golden Globes, Nick Jonas threw classic menswear tailoring out the window in favor a fresher, more unexpected look. Flanked by his wife Priyanka Chopra—who wore a stunning pink off-the-shoulder gown—the Jonas Brothers singer ditched a stuffy tie in favor of a cheekier accessory: the bolo tie.

Inspired by the country-western aesthetic that has been all the rage in fashion lately, thanks to performers such as Lil Nas X, Jonas’s Prada bolo tie gave the cowboy staple a designer twist. Yeehaw! And the risky styling secured him as one of the best dressed men of the night. Jonas’s high-fashion bolo was worn with a snazzy suit: a satin double-breasted style in black, with a blue button-up underneath. His shiny black oxfords with a slight lug sole, meanwhile, were also an update on a dress classic. So, consider it official: bland nine-to-five ties are out, and quirky bolo ties are in—even for evening.
