Nick Cannon Praises 5-Year-Old 'Genius' Son on First Day of Second Grade

It's back-to-school time for the comedian's son!

Nick Cannon was a proud dad ahead of his son's first day of school!

Cannon celebrated a huge milestone as his 5-year-old son took on second grade. In an Instagram post, The Masked Singer host shared a photo of Golden posing before the big day on Aug. 29.

Golden can be seen sporting a royal blue long sleeve polo with khakis and a backpack that looks almost too big for his body. He held up a a sign that read, "First day of second grade," along with some facts about his first day, including "it's Monday, August 29" and "My teacher's name is Ms. C." The sign also revealed his age and that he wants to be a scientist when he grows up.

"Yesterday was the first day of 2ND GRADE for MR. GOLDEN CANNON!! (And he’s only 5 years old!!!) Congratulations Champ!!" Cannon wrote in the caption.

The emphasis on his age is necessary as children in second grade are typically 7 or 8 years old, per Today.

"I can’t take none of the credit though! He gets his genius from his Mamma! @missbbell 🙏🏾❤️," Cannon jokingly concluded.
