For NFL teams, there is no greater prize than the Lombardi Trophy. At the beginning of every season, each team sets their sights on the highest achievement in American football. While some teams like the New England Patriots and the Kansas City Chiefs have several wins under their belts, other teams have never brought home the trophy, and some have yet to make it to the Super Bowl at all. Even though they haven’t brought the Lombardi Trophy home just yet, these teams always have next year to earn the NFL’s top honor and become Super Bowl Champions.

In the early 1990s, the Buffalo Bills fought their way to four consecutive Super Bowls, but sadly never won a single one. They haven’t returned to the Super Bowl since their most recent loss in 1993.

Perhaps they deserve to be cut a little slack because they are still a relatively new team, but the Houston Texans have never made it to the Super Bowl. Before they make it to the big game, they’ll have to reach the AFC Championship Game, which they’ve also never done.

Despite two shots at winning the Super Bowl, the Atlanta Falcons have yet to bring home the title. They lost to the Denver Broncos in 1998 and in 2017 they lost to the New England Patriots.

The Tennessee Titans made it to the Super Bowl only once in 2000. Unfortunately, they lost 23-16 to the St. Louis Rams.

Despite being one of the oldest teams in the NFL, the Browns have yet to make it to the Super Bowl. They won a number of NFL Championships throughout the 1950s, but the Super Bowl didn’t take place for the first time until 1966.

The Minnesota Vikings made it to the Super Bowl four times in the early days of the major NFL event, but each time they failed to bring home a win. To add insult to injury, they never held a single lead during any of their Super Bowl appearances.

From 1996 to 1999, the Jacksonville Jaguars made it to the playoffs, which is particularly impressive considering they only entered the league in 1995. However, they’ve yet to make it to the Super Bowl at all, let alone win.

The Detroit Lions have only won a single playoff game in the 57 years since the Super Bowl was introduced. They are the only team in the NFC that has never made it to the Super Bowl.

Even though the Los Angeles Chargers have had many great seasons, they’ve only made it to the Super Bowl once, in 1994. Unfortunately, the 49ers took home the title that year.

The Carolina Panthers have made two Super Bowl appearances to date: first in 2003, and then again in 2015. However, the relatively new team failed to secure the win both times.

While they have made it to the Super Bowl three times, the Cincinnati Bengals have yet to bring home the Lombardi Trophy. The team lost twice, in 1981 and 1988, to the 49ers, and then again in 2021 to the Los Angeles Rams.
