The Newport Art Museum's Summer Fundraiser Honored Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney

On July 19, the Newport Art Museum honored Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney and Howard Gardiner Cushing at its annual Artists' Ball. After Cushing's untimely death in 1916, Whitney commissioned the Cushing Building at the museum to the American Impressionist's memory. Many of Cushing's works are now on view at the museum.
