Fitness enthusiasts in Singapore can soon look forward to virtual reality cycling experiences at a new gym by Pure Fitness.

The company’s third gym will open at Ngee Ann City by year end and will feature a new facility called the Innovation Lab. Here is where visitors can hop on bicycles that are equipped with VirZOOM technology, offering a virtual reality experience while capturing data such as pedal speed, resistance buttons and heart rate.

Users of these virtual reality bicycles can choose from experiences such as horse riding through a forest or car racing on a race track.

“As more busy Singaporeans focus on leading healthier lives, we are dedicated to providing new and innovative ways to help them maintain an active lifestyle,” said Colin Grant, Pure Group CEO and co-founder.

The new centre measures 28,000 square feet and will also house the 270º Immersive Fitness studio, which was first introduced by the brand in Hong Kong.

The studio allows for the immersive cycling workout THE TRIP by world-renowned New Zealand athlete Les Mills. The feature allows visitors to enjoy indoor cycling in front of a cinema-quality screen projection showing various sceneries.

“The Immersive Fitness experience has been hugely popular in Hong Kong and we wanted to bring this thrilling, almost surreal fitness ride to our fans in Singapore,” said country director Vikram Natarajan.

New fitness programmes to be held at the Ngee Ann City outlet include Reformer Pilates and Barre.
