A week after South Korea’s “Descendants of the Sun” actor Song Joong-ki visited Singapore to promote new movie “The Battleship Island”, local dating agency Fabrique has decided to give Singaporeans a chance to find their very own “Song-Song” romance at an upcoming dating event themed after the popular drama series.

The 31-year-old actor played the role of Captain Yoo Si-jin (a.k.a Big Boss) alongside co-star-turned-fiance Song Hye-kyo, who played Doctor Kang Mo-yeon (a.k.a Beauty). Famously dubbed the “Song-Song” couple, the duo is expected to tie the knot on 31 October. Meanwhile, fans in Singapore who are seeking love can look forward to a dating event happening two weeks ahead of the stars’ big day.

Famous scenes from “Descendants of the Sun” will be played out by participants at Fabrique’s upcoming event, which is set to take place on 14 October from 2pm to 5pm at the Singapore Botanic Gardens. Each participant is required to pay a $38 fee.

“We wanted to add a thematic element to our events and this Korean romance drama was trending a while back. Previously, we did an ‘Angels & Demons’ theme event which is inspired by the popular novel of Dan Brown. The event was a success and we received positive feedback from our participants. We are looking at doing more of such thematic events,” a spokesperson told Yahoo Lifestyle Singapore.

All activities are planned by Fabrique’s certified dating practitioners and will include reenactments of favorite scenes from the drama, among other ice-breakers.

Fabrique was previously known as Champagne SG and was formed in 2010. The agency is also accredited by the Social Development Network. The agency organises events on a weekly basis, ranging from parties accommodating up to 80 people, to smaller events for up to 20 people. Attendees’ ages range from late 20s to 40s.

“Dating events allow participants to know one another through a game and activity. Participants find it easier to warm up to one another and break the ice. Speed dating can be quite brief at times due to the constant rotations. Thus, it doesn’t provide as much opportunities for participants to interact on a deeper level,” said Fabrique.
