There are good reasons not to choose a window seat on a plane: such as getting that schlub sitting in the middle seat to wake up so you can use the bathroom on a cross-country flight, for example. But the tradeoff with an aisle seat is missing out on that serendipitous moment just before touchdown when you score a view of the city skyline below you that makes your Facebook friends jealous. This is the raison d’être of View from the Wing, a Tumblr dedicated to nothing but photos from plane windows.
The site takes submissions, but they go for quality over quantity, with just a handful of posts per month. Some of the expertly captured views of mountains and skyscrapers below might make you think twice about which seat you book next time.
