Nevada High star offensive lineman Talan Chandler commits to Colorado, Deion Sanders

Nevada Tigers Talan Chandler prepares for second half of game at Catholic on Friday, August 26, 2022.

Southwest Missouri's top high school football prospect entering his senior year is headed to Primetime.

Nevada High star Talan Chandler, a 6-foot-3, 295-pound offensive lineman, announced his commitment to Colorado on Friday.

Chandler is coming off his first season in southwest Missouri after playing for Lutheran St. Charles and winning a state championship as a sophomore. He moved to Nevada as a junior and immediately became the area's best offensive lineman while earning first-team News-Leader All-Ozarks and News-Leader Dominant Dozen honors.

He chose new Colorado head coach Deion Sanders' program over the likes of Eastern Michigan, UNLV, Northern Iowa, Missouri State and others.

Nevada had one of the best ground attacks in the area this past season with Chandler playing guard. He finished this past season with over 130 pancake/knockdown blocks in 12 games.

Chandler is the second offensive lineman from southwest Missouri to commit to the Buffaloes this offseason. The 2024 prospect will follow former Missouri State offensive tackle and Webb City star Landon Bebee who transferred this offseason.
