This is not a drill: Netflix just confirmed Sex/Life season 2 is officially happening.

After binge-watching season one (and recovering from the shock of *that* shower scene) there was really only one question that remained about Netflix's Sex/Life. No, not 'is Brad wearing a prosthetic penis?' but will there be a season 2?

The good news is, as of September 2021, it's a big fat YES to another instalment . Here's what we know about Sex/Life season 2 so far.

Is there a trailer for Sex/Life season 2?

Oh yes there's a trailer, and it suggests season two is going to be just as steamy, if not more than the first one, with plenty of scenes of Billie and Brad getting very intimate.

The trailer also gives us the first look at the new cast members including Cleo Anthony as Kam, Darius Homayoun as Majid and Wallis Day as Gigi. We can't wait to see this new season.

When is Sex/Life season 2 going to be released?

Along with the trailer announcement Netflix also confirmed we won't have long to wait for the new season as Sex/Life season two will be released on 2nd March.

Who will star in Sex/Life season 2?

Good news: all of the original stars will be making a comeback. The streaming platform announced Sarah Shahi, Mike Vogel, Adam Demos and Margaret Odette will all be back as their respective characters - Billie Connelly, her husband Cooper, her former lover Brad Simon and her BFF Sasha Snow.

Later, in March 2022, there were also reports of new characters joining the cast. According to TVLine, Batwoman's Wallis Day (who plays Kate Kane in season 2 of The CW series) has joined as a character called Gigi, though everything else about her is under wraps.

Also, Craig Bierko from UnREAL has joined the line up as Mick, She's Gotta Have It's Cleo Anthony as Kam and Darius Homayoun as Majid, alongside Dylan Bruce from Orphan Black as Spencer.

When was Sex/Life season 2 confirmed?

Netflix revealed on 27 September 2021 that a follow-up series will be happening. Speaking of the second season, creator and showrunner Stacy Rukeyer said (via Digital Spy), "Sex/Life is a dream come true. To create a show about empowered female sexuality that has entranced so many millions of viewers is not only immensely fun but also incredibly gratifying.

"When I think about all the women who have reached out from all over the world to say that the show speaks to them in a deeply personal way, I am so inspired. I'm thrilled and grateful for the opportunity to continue telling this story for Billie, and for all of us."

The trailer for season 2 revealed *20 million* people replayed ~that~ shower scene, while the show reached 67 million households.

What happened in Sex/Life season 1?

Fans of the Netflix original know the first series sees Billie's internal battle between the 'happy married life' with her husband Cooper and two children, to missing the excitement (and great sex) of her previous relationship with Brad.

In the last episode, viewers see Billie turn up to Brad's apartment, insisting that while she wasn't going to leave her husband, she wanted her ex-boyfriend in her life too.

What have the cast said about Sex/Life season 2?

While details on the actual season are sparse, namely because it's only just confirmed, the cast made it very clear they were keen to take part.

"I hope we get another chance to do it again because I sure do love Billie a lot," Sarah Shahi, who plays the lead, told Entertainment Tonight in June 2021. "I just hope these stories continue to spiral even more down the rabbit hole than they already have.

"Billie's gotta live in this complex world. She's sexual and she's unhappy and she's happy. There's just a circus of things to explore with her."

Author BB Easton, whose book 44 Chapters About 4 Men inspired the Netflix show, is also keen. "There is a lot of talk about season two and I have high hopes just because of the response worldwide," Easton told Daily Express in July 2021. "It's number one in the UK and it has been for a while, so I am very hopeful."

We're so excited for this.
