Netflix's 'Cyberpunk: Edgerunners' Debuts an Electric New Trailer

Netflix has released a second trailer for Studio Trigger's Cyberpunk: Edgerunners sci-fi anime series, showcasing stunning visuals of Night City. The show is based on Projekt Red's open-world game Cyberpunk 2077 and follows a street kid named David who resides in a technology-obsessed world where body modification is the norm. While playing a delicate balancing act, David works as an Edgerunner — a mercenary outlaw otherwise known as a Cyberpunk.

The latest trailer, cut by the animators at Studio Trigger, offers a first look at the eclectic Edgerunners crew including David, Maine, Dorio, Kiwi, Pilar, Rebecca, and Lucy. With neon-lit bars, densely-packed futuristic skyscrapers, and off-world environments as the backdrop, the show promises plenty of action and personality.

The team behind the series includes Gurren Lagann‘s Hiroyuki Imaishi as director, Star Wars: Visions‘ Masahiko Otsuka and SSSS.Gridman‘s Yoshiki Usa as scriptwriters, and Silent Hill games’ Akira Yamaoka as the music composer.

Look for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners to arrive on Netflix this September.
