Netflix is releasing 71 (!) new movies this year - here's the complete list
So while it's no secret Netflix is the Gandalf of movie magic, they've definitely outdone themselves with their lofty 2021 film plans. Yes, the streaming platform and our lockdown saviour will be releasing a new movie each week, with 71 new films in total coming to Netflix. The movies will mainly be originals but there are also some acquisitions thrown into the mix, presumably courtesy of the big production companies that haven't been able to release in cinemas.
There are so many gems on the slate, but a few of the highlights include sci-fi comedy Don't Look Up with Jennifer Lawrence, Leonardo DiCaprio, Meryl Streep, Timothee Chalamet and a bunch of other huge names. The film follows a pair of astronauts who are trying to warn humanity that an asteroid is hurtling toward planet Earth and they only have six months left.
Then there's the Lin-Manuel Miranda-directed musical Tick, Tick … Boom! while The Woman in The Window with Amy Adams, Gary Oldman and Julianne Moore will also finally air. Oh, and we should also mention To All The Boys 3 and Kissing Booth 3 are both out this year. Excited yet? You will be after you read this complete list of all the movies coming to Netflix in 2021:
