Netflix Just Released the 'Mindhunter' Season 2 Trailer, Including a Charles Manson Character

Hollywood's fascination with serial killers and murder mysteries just won't quit, and one convicted killer in particular has been at the forefront: Charles Manson.

Manson is the subject of one of the plot lines for Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. The same actor who plays the cult leader in that recent film, Australian star Damon Herriman, will also portray Manson in Netflix's Mindhunter.

Manson's (Herriman) appearance is teased in the new trailer for season two of the show (out August 16), which focuses on the Atlanta child murders of the late ’70s and early ’80s. However, the main character, serial killer investigator Holden Ford, asks to speak to Manson in one of the scenes from the new trailer.

"One more thing, Manson is small. Like, really small. Try not to stare," Cameron Britton's Ed Kemper, aka the "Co-Ed Killer," tells investigators Ford (Jonathan Groff) and Bill Tench (Holt McCallany) in the preview.

Besides the return of Groff and McCallany, Anna Torv will reprise her season one role as Wendy Carr, and Joe Tuttle as Gregg Smith. Newcomers to the show include Herriman and Michael Cerveris as the new FBI director who wants to pour funding into and expand the serial killer investigation branch of the FBI.

Mindhunter premieres on August 16 with nine new episodes. (We're already catching up on sleep in preparation.)
