This article contains spoilers from the first season of Cursed.

Netflix's new fantasy epic Cursed has roots in both Arthurian mythos and a 2019 graphic novel of the same name, and the streaming giant is hoping that it's new/old story will be as dynamic a hit with its viewers as that story historically has been. The show stars Katherine Langford stars as Nimue, a young woman destined to become the tragic Lady of the Lake.

Mixed with magic, some romance (hello there, King Arthur), and a war that could change the course of events for her people, the show is a re-imagining of a minor character in Arthurian legends, with a lot more folklore to be further explored. But in order for that to happen, Netflix needs to give the show another shot and greenlight a return.

Here’s what we know so far about season 2 and what fans can expect from Nimue and company.:

When will season 2 air?

Netflix likes to take their time when announcing whether shows will be renewed. If Cursed gets greenlit for another season, the earliest fans would hear about it would likely be mid-late August. And as most productions are still shut down, it would be hard to say when the show would begin filming. But given the fact that Netflix ordered the series back in 2018 (a whole year before the novel’s release) and it’s just debuting now, it could take a while before a second season hits television screens.

What would season 2 be about?

After binging the series, you might have some important questions: Where did Merlin and Morgana go? What’s happening with Arthur? Is Nimue still alive after taking the arrows directed at her father? It’s a lot of questions that don’t necessarily have an answer, since there’s no second book to draw ideas from. If a season 2 should happen, chances are those questions will get some sort of answer to them.

It’s also revealed in the season finale that the Weeping Monk and Squirrel are actually Lancelot and Percival—two Knights of the Round Table, according to Arthurian legend. If the easter egg is correct, maybe there’s a chance fans will see this part of the folklore come into play.

Who’s expected to return in season 2?

Fans can reasonably hope for Devon Terrell (Arthur), Gustaf Skarsgård (Merlin), Daniel Sharman (Weeping Monk/Lancelot) and Billy Jenkins (Squirrel/Percival) to return, as their characters are still alive at the end of the first season.

As for Katherine Langford, it’s hard to say what her involvement will be, given Nimue’s personal cliffhanger in the final episode. But, as she is the star of the show, coupled with the fact that magic runs rampant throughout the show, it wouldn’t take much effort to bring Nimue back and take charge once again in season two.

You can now stream Cursed on Netflix.
